Art Deco 18k Gold Pierced Earrings with Screw Posts in Hexagonal Shape. This is a pair of pierced earrings from the Art Deco period of time. The earrings are made of and marked 18k white gold.
They have a screw post with a custom screw back which is marked 14k gold. The earrings have a hexagonal shape and each has a diamond in the center. There is a support "cross-beam" on the back of the earrings and one of the beams is yellow gold while the other is white gold.
White gold is more expensive but I suspect the reason for the difference is that the original owner had two pairs of these earrings and they may be mis-matched but I don't know that for sure. They have a diameter of about. What's interesting about these earrings other than the posts are screws, is that the back will only go so far down on the post and then stops. They are very well made. The blue velvet box is not the original box but it is an expensive box which I bought separately. Together the earrings weigh 1.6 grams. These are part of a suite which included a pendant and ring which are listed separately.
